I was watching this Japanese Drama last night with the title Proposal Daisakusen also called as Operation Love starring YamaPi. I watched it because I think the story was interesting and besides YamaPi is playing the lead role.
Anyway, it’s about this really stupid guy (he’s not really stupid as in literally stupid). He’s actually cool (of course because it’s YamaPi =)) But anyway, this guy named Ken attended the wedding of his one true love thinking desperately, “Why am I not the groom??”
All his life he had been in love with Rei, the bride. They were classmates since childhood and they were very close. Maybe that’s the reason why he never told her his true feelings. It’s because he thought that Rei will be forever by his side and that he has all the time in the world to confess his love to her. It was too late before he realized that they couldn’t stay that way forever.
A fairy saw how desperate he was so it appeared in front of him and that started his time travel. (Yes! Time travel!) The fairy gave him 10 chances to change a few hours in the past so he could show Rei how he truly feels before it was too late.
Rei was a transfer student back in grade school. Her first friend was Ken. They were sitting next to each other. When Ken noticed that Rei doesn’t have an eraser, he broke his eraser into two and gave the other half to Rei. Rei saw the name on the eraser but since it was cut in half she mistakenly thought Ken’s name was Kenzou so since then Rei called him Kenzou (which I think is kinda sweet).
They were playing on the horizontal bars when Rei met an accident and got injured. Kenzou feeling responsible promised Rei’s mother, “I’m going to take care of Rei forever.”
I think the girl is also stupid because she has a secret crush on Ken-zou (YamaPi) ever since they were kids. She is the only one who calls Ken, Ken-zou and I think it’s cute. Anyway, Rei wrote a letter to Ken-zou on the day of their elementary graduation and on the letter she wrote something about her feelings for him. She waited outside the gate of the school but Ken-zou never came. She kept the letter with her but she wasn’t able to have the courage to give it to Ken-zou after that.
On her 20th birthday, Rei decided to give the letter to Ken-zou so she went to Ken’s apartment but Ken wasn’t there. He was waiting for Rei in the post office because Rei was about to join a competition and she needs to pass her entry before 12 midnight.
And so like a fool, both of them were waiting for each other on two different places. That night, Rei decided to forget about her feelings for Kenzou so she threw the letter away without giving it to Kenzou.
After Ken spent all of his 10 chances, He realized he couldn’t really change his fate by changing the past. So he decided to change the present for the future instead. Before the wedding there was a party and he was given a chance to speak. That’s when he confessed his fellings to Rei in front of the entire guest.
A guy, who has a habit of celebrating alone during his birthday and giving himself a gift, met a girl during one of his birthday. They did a lot of crazy stuff that night like stealing apples, eating in a restaurant without paying and so on. When it was time for the girl to leave, she told him that she was from the future and she traveled back through a time machine. Years passed and it was his birthday when he met her again. He was supposed to get shot that night by a drunken gun man in the restaurant where he usually celebrates his birthday. The guy found out that she was a cyborg made by his future self. His future self asked the cyborg to travel back in time and save him from the gun man. They fell in love with each other after a long time of being together but when an earthquake hit Tokyo, the cyborg died after saving him. It took him 60 years to be able to make another one like her. Her memory was preserved in a memory chip so she remembered everything. Many years passed again. The guy died and so did the cyborg but her memory still remained. Then a girl who looks exactly like her was able to acquire the chip and she put all the memories of the cyborg inside her own memory. So it was like they become one. Then she was given the chance to travel back in time. She’s not allowed to meet him but she just couldn’t stop herself. They did a lot of crazy stuff that night. So you’ll notice that everything that has happened in the past happened again. The guy meeting a girl, the two of them spending the night on the streets together stealing apples and so on. The interesting thing is that the movie ended the same way it started. It was like a time loop. The guy created the cyborg in the image of the girl he met in the past and the girl went back in the past because she saw the cyborg who looks like her. But we can never tell which came first. It’s like asking which came first: the chicken or the egg? In the end, the girl from the future decided to spend her life with the guy so she came back again to the time when the guy was still alive.
I finished reading Heroes: Saving Charlie today. I was a bit disappointed but it's still worth reading... As expected (if you watched Heroes) Hiro wasn't able to save Charlie. Why? Because she chose to die! She knows she will be murdered on October 4 because Hiro warned her and yet she chose to die. Such a stupid girl.
I was a little bit disappointed because the writer wasn't able to adopt the Japanese culture in Hiro's personality.. Sorry about being so particular about that..
But seriously... while I was reading the book, I imagine an American geek instead of a Japanese. Even his thoughts are so american-like. There are a lot of intimate scenes in the novel and I can't imagine Hiro Nakamura (who looks like picachu) in those kinds of situations. I can imagine him infatuated but in love?? Heck, no! Oh, well I think I'm just too narrow-minded...
Just like the 1st Fushigi Yuugi, Genbu Kaiden is also about a girl who got transported to another world because of the book of The Universe of the Four Gods. But unlike the first, this story happened many years back...before the time of Miaka ang Yui. The main character was named Takiko Okuda. Takiko was way too different from Miaka. For one thing, she's not as stupid as Miaka. Another thing, she's also not as careless as Miaka. Takiko can actually defend herself using a sword with a long handle. (don't know the name of it).
Anyway, Takiko hates her father for being so obsessive with his work even though Takiko's mother was suffering from Tuberculosis. (No medicine was invented for TB at that time). Takiko's father was a writer and he was the one who translated the Chinese Universe of the Four Gods book into Japanese. (It's already mentioned in the first Fushigi Yuugi). Takiko didn't know that her father was so obsessed with finishing the book because he knows that the book was powerful and it can grant any wishes. What her father didn't expect was that Takiko was sucked inside the book and became the Priestess of Genbu (one of the four gods, Suzaku, Seiryu, Genbu and Biyako) Miaka who became the Priestess of Suzaku and Yui who became the Priestess of Seiryu were the main characters in the first FY.
Just like Miaka who fell in love with Tamahome, one of her seven celestial warriors (a priestess needs seven warriors to defend her), Takiko also fell in love with Uruki/Rimudo Roun. He has the power of the wind and he can only use it when he's woman. (Yes, he has the ability to change into woman form whenever he wishes.) His mark on the chest actually means "woman". Compared to Tamahome who has a very poor family Rimudo is actually a royal blood! He is the sixteen-year-old crown prince of Hokkan. His father, the brother of the emperor tried to kill him because of a propecy that his son will kill him when the book opens and the periestess of Genbu come to their world.
Since it is mentioned in the 1st FY that Takiko Okuda died, I'm dying to know how Yuu Watase will end this manga. I hope it will still be a happy ending for Uruki and Takiko just like Miaka and Tamahome.
It started with the girl named Mika telling a story (“ka” in “Mika” is written in kanji which means happiness). It goes like this…
Hiro, the me back then lived in an extremely sheltered world. Never did I realized how sheltered it was. It felt like I was living in my utmost effort. I’ve always thought that that was the real me. Back then, I really thought I won’t change. To change myself for love, I really could not have imagined that at all. It seems that the view in my eyes has become rich with colors just for love. The sound of wind in my ears become softer. Never did I know that the world will change because of it. And…Hiro who taught me all of this… Except that, Hiro who taught me all of this… is… no longer here. credits: translation by SARS-Fansubs
So in the very beginning, it was stated that the guy named Hiro died. The interesting part is to find out how he died.
They were in high school when Hiro, a guy with a bleached hair, suddenly kissed Mika. It was her first kiss and Hiro was a stranger so that was really a total shock to Mika. After a few days, Hiro told Mika he likes her. Another first for her since no one ever told her that before. They started dating and suddenly Mika started to like Hiro.
After months of being together, Mika became pregnant and they were desperate to have the baby but Mika’s parents were against it. With perseverance, they managed to convince Mika’s parents that they wanted to raise the baby together. They were happy until Mika lost the baby before it was born. They both promised to visit the grave of the baby every December 24, the date they lost her (yes, it was a baby girl).
A few days after that, Hiro suddenly got ill. He thought it was just a cold but when he went to the hospital, the doctor said it was cancer. He doesn’t want to tell Mika because they just lost the baby and now it’s his turn. He doesn’t want Mika to cry again because of him. And so he made his decision. He gave Mika a lot of reasons to hate him. He thought it would be easy for Mika to forget him if she hates him. When Mika gave him a bonnet as a birthday gift, he just threw it away. The night of his birthday party, Mika saw him kissing another girl. She went home crying while Hiro was looking at her from his bedroom window, tears falling from his eyes. After that, they officially broke up.
It was December 24 when they met again. Mika was shocked to find Hiro because she thought he already forgot about the baby. While crying, Mika asked Hiro why they ended up like that but Hiro said that he just got tired of everything. That’s why they broke up. That night Mika finally gave up all hope that they could still fix it. Then they went their own separate ways. But before long, Hiro turned around and stared at the departing Mika while whispering, “Mika, be careful on your way home.”
Another guy confessed his feelings for Mika. Mika who decided to move on accepted his offer and he became her boyfriend. From a distance, Hiro saw how happy she was and he said, “Yokatta” (that’s great) although it’s obvious that he was hurting inside.
On the next Dec 24, Mika went to visit the baby’s grave again. She saw someone but it was not Hiro. It was Hiro’s best friend whom Hiro asked to visit the grave for him. At that time, the doctors don’t allow Hiro to leave the hospital anymore so he asked his friend to visit the grave instead. That’s when Mika finally found out the truth about Hiro’s illness.
She desperately wanted to see Hiro but it will be cheating on her boyfriend. She knew she has to choose between the two. Yuu (her boyfriend) had been so good to her and she didn’t want to hurt him but all those times, her love for Hiro was never gone. And so she broke up with Yuu and chose Hiro.
She went to the hospital and when she saw Hiro for the first time after a long time, her first word was “Baka” (idiot). She noticed the bonnet he’s wearing. It was the gift she gave him on his birthday. She also noticed the ring on his finger, the same ring she has inside her drawer in her room. Hiro bought it for her. She never wear it since they broke up but she doesn’t have the heart to throw it away.
Hiro said in an indifferent, “What are you doing here?”
While crying she said, “Why didn’t you tell me? Why are you acting so tough when you’re still wearing that ring?” Then Hiro explained everything to her why he did all those things.
On the next few months, Mika came to the hospital everyday and they were so happy.
One day, Hiro told Mika that he wanted to be the sky so he can always watch over her.
The day he died, Hiro asked Mika to develop the pictures in his camera so she left the hospital not knowing that it would be he last time she will see him alive. She was on her way back to the hospital when Hiro’s sister called and told her that Hiro is in critical condition. She ran as fast as she could until she tripped and the pictures were scattered all over the ground. That’s when she noticed it was all just her pictures. Hiro took pictures of her without her knowing.
She dialed Hiro’s phone while running and crying at the same time. Hiro’s sister picked it up and showed the phone to Hiro whose eyes were closed, an oxygen mask on his face. The doctors were also there doing everything they could. When Hiro heard Mika’s voice, he slowly opened his eyes. Mika told him to be strong because they should make pictures together in the future, not just her pictures. She couldn’t stop crying and when she noticed that Hiro was trying to say something, she stopped running and listened closely. Hiro said, “Mi…ka…waratte” (Mika, smile…) While tears were falling down her face, she tried her best and smiled for him. Seeing her smile, Hiro smiled too.
Mika said, “Hiro, I’ll be there soon.” Hiro slowly nodded. She ended the call and started running again. Slowly, Hiro closed his eyes and a tear fell from it. He never woke up again. Mika was too late.
After the funeral, Mika who was having a difficult time coping considered killing herself by jumping off a bridge, but before she could do it, two doves went flying in front of her and she stepped back and dropped the diary Hiro left for her. A strong wind blew over the diary and it opened the pages one by one. Hiro never fails to mention Mika in all of the entries then Mika noticed a letter inserted in one of its pages which goes like this…
To Mika:
By the time you read this letter, I don’t think I’ll be around any longer. I’m really sorry to have left before you. I originally wanted to walk in step with you to the future. In the end, I left first. I’m sorry. I think you must be crying now. But I want to see you smile. I hope that as you read those happy memories, it will bring your smile out. You have to be happy in life after this too. Always wear a smile on your face. Though I have grumbled about my illness, but because I had the chance to meet you, I am deeply grateful. To have meet you, to have spent my life with you, I’m… really very happy. I believe I’m the most fortunate person in this world. That’s why I want to see you smile. And also, I wanted to be by your side watching over you, around you, looking at you. Mika, your love for me…thank you very much. Be strong and live on. You can do it. I’m sure you can.
Itsumade mo aishiteru(Love you always), Sakurai Hiroki
After reading the letter, Mika said,
Hiro, gomen. Watashi mo daijoubu da yo. (Hiro, I’m sorry. I’m fine now..) credits: translation by SARS-Fansubs
Then Mika started to move on just like what Hiro wanted for her. And the thing that gives her courage to live is the sky... The sky of love (koizora).
I admit I am biased with the drama. I don’t know… maybe because I watched it first that I think it’s much nicer than the movie. But seriously, I think the drama series has more drama in it than the movie. I have this impression that the movie is the rushed version of the drama series. It’s like a drama squeezed into a movie. It has the same story (but not exactly the same plot). Besides, the actor in the drama is better than in the movie in terms of skills. But I have to admit the actors in the movie are better looking than in the drama.
I came to watch the drama series because a friend of mine recommended it. When I saw the first episode I was like… “Seto??!”
You see, I’m a fan of Seto Kouji, not a big fan, just… fan. Anyway, when I decided to watch the series, I didn’t know that Seto is playing the main character. I instantly like the series after watching the first episode although I’m not sure if it was because the story was nice or it’s just because of Seto.
As I said, I watched the series before the movie so I didn’t know that Hiro died. But it was stated at the beginning that Hiro was already gone so I was pretty close to thinking he died. I watched a fanvid in Youtube and I confirmed it.
Hiro did die.
I maybe too emotional but I admit, I was near tears while watching the fanvideo with the matching sad theme song of the drama, Ai no Uta (Song of Love).
Some of my favorite part in the series…
When Hiro (Seto) suddenly kisses Mika. I like it because I didn’t expect it. (They’re still strangers back then.)
When Hiro went to Mika’s classroom in the middle of a class and he began dragging Mika outside and brought her to his favorite place near the river. He knew Mika like the sky so as a birthday present for Mika he brought her to the place where she can see the sky. (Of course you can see the sky anywhere but the sweet part is the fact that Hiro wanted to share his special place to Mika).
I also like it when Hiro gave Mika a flower (it still has roots =b). Then Mika got angry and said she feels sorry for the flower. The next day, Mika noticed that the plant was back on its place and Hiro was putting fertilizer in it.
When Hiro dyed his hair black and tried to be a good boy. =)
When Hiro found out that he’s going to die, he decided to let go of Mika and did everything to make Mika hate her which I think is the most stupid thing he could have done. He thought it would be easy for Mika to forget him if she hates him. Stupid, right? He’s just hurting them both.
I almost cried during Chrismas Eve, when Mika finally decided to forget Hiro. It was snowing and Hiro was looking at the departing Mika and said, “Take care on your way home, Mika”. I feel sorry for Hiro because for one thing, he’s already ill. Another thing, he sacrificed everything, even his happiness, for Mika. At that time, Mika already found another man which makes me feel sorry for Hiro even more.
When Mika finally found out about Hiro’s illness and her first word was “Baka!” ~ idiot.
I definitely cried at the last episode when Hiro was dying. Hiro’s sister called Mika and told her Hiro is in critical condition. Mika ran as fast as she could then she called Hiro. Hiro’s sister answered the call for Hiro. Hiro’s last words were, “Mika…waratte”~Mika, smile. While crying, Mika tried her best and smiled. Then Hiro slowly closed his eyes and a tear fell from it.
This is definitely the best drama series I’ve seen so far. Not to mention it’s a true story. It’s based on a novel and I’m dying to read the English translation of it (assuming there is).
info on wiki watch kamen rider den-o online here download links here
After I finished watching Kamen Rider Den-O there are a lot of things that bothered me.
• How Sakurai Yuuto (Yuichi Nakamura) managed to transform with red cards. Where did he get those cards? • What’s really the goal of Kai and why did he disappeared when his strongest imajin died? • How come the bad imajins disappeared and yet the good one’s ( i.e. Den-O, Deneb and Seig) remained. • Why did oneechan said “I knew it” just before Sakurai-san disappeared entirely? Since when did she remember? Or did she? • When Kai destroyed their era, how come Ryoutaro, Momotarosu-tachi, Hana-san, Yuuto, Deneb, Oneechan, Kai and the other bad imajins remained? • If Ryoutaro, Airi-san, and Sakurai-san forgot about the baby (Hana-chan) then how come she’s still existing? • You can’t forget someone entirely even though you really wanted to, right? Then how did Ryoutaro, Airi-san and Sakurai-san managed to forget about the baby when all they did is to “want to forget”. • Why is it that Sakurai-san disappeared and yet Yuuto did not? They’re both the same people right? The only difference is that they came from different points in time.
The only conclusion I can give is that watching a show that involves traveling through time is really confusing. I was hoping that Yuuto and Airi-san will be together in the end. I don’t care whether Airi-san is too old for the younger Yuuto. I just want them to have a happy ending somehow.
Kamen Rider Kiva
I'm not a Kamen Rider fan. Den-O and Kiva are the only Kamen Rider that I bothered watching and I'm still not yet finished with Decade. But if you like action comedy thing, Kamen Rider Kiva and Den-O is a must-see.
I watched Akai Ito because Tomo forced me to. Haha! But seriously, I became interested in this drama because I like Tomo’s eagerness when he mentions Akai Ito in his blog posts. Everytime he says,
Everyone did you watch it~?? Man~, it's a really fun drama ne o(≧∀≦)o Definitely watch it please!!!
I was like… “Sure, Tomo.” So, there… I did watch it. And… I liked it!
I’m not being biased or something. I definitely liked it not because Tomo is part of it (I didn’t see much of him anyway) but because it has an interesting story, not too predictable… not to mention it has lots of flash-backs and I was like, “So that’s what happened.” When I feel like I already understood everything, suddenly there will be a twist and I’ll find myself catching up again. You’ll only know the full story once you reached the ending. For example, I hate A-kun’s mother all throughout the drama but at the last episode I found out that it wasn’t entirely her fault. She never influenced Mei’s father to take drugs. She just asked a favor and it ended in a tragedy. As for Mei’s mother, I don’t think knowing that her husband is a user is not really enough reason to commit suicide. I think this drama is really worth watching… even if you’re not a fan of Tomo or any of the cast like me…
Tomo is playing the part of the soccer player Natsu who made a girl pregnant and was so scared to face the consequences. I think Tomo was really cute in the part when he and his love partner (the girl who’s got pregnant) were in a restaurant and the girl was having second thoughts as to whether she should tell Natsu that she’s pregnant or not. She noticed that Natsu was so nervous that he couldn’t even look at her in the eyes and so she decided not to tell Natsu the truth and she misled him by saying that the result of the test was negative. Then Tomo was like…”Yokatta”~”thank goodness”. Then she asked, “What if… I’m pregnant…” Then Tomo was like, “Masaka! We’re still in highschool…blah blah” and he went on saying things that definitely hurt the girl. Then he noticed her tears and she walked out on him. In the end, Tomo realized he did a wrong thing and so they decided to keep the baby. At the end of the drama, there are pictures of the two of them and a cute healthy baby girl. Tomo became a daddy! =)
By the way, if you’ve seen the Hana Kimi, Mizobata Junpei (A-kun) is part of it, he’s one of the guys in dorm 2.
This is a love story between two people whose fate is connected by “Akai Ito” or red thread.
According to a Chinese legend, two people’s destiny is connected by a red thread and even though they got separated they will always be connected somehow.
It was February 29, a day which only comes every four years, when a girl named Mei met a boy named Atsushi without them knowing that they’re destined to be together. It was Mei’s birthday and she and her mom went to a bakeshop to buy a cake. On her way out, she bumped on a boy riding a bicycle and the cake she was carrying was crushed. The cake shop gave her another one. Then she found out it was also the guy’s birthday that day. She took the chocolate on top of her birthday cake with the words, “Happy Birthday” then he gave it to the boy.
Years passed and they’re now in high school. They became classmates but neither of them knew that they’ve already met before. The girl has no idea that her classmate was the boy back then. The guy didn’t know either.
But one day when the A-kun (Atsushi) asked for the Mei’s birthday, he was surprised to find out that they both have the same birthdays. Then he asked her if she happen to meet a boy with the same birthday before and she said yes. They started dating ever since then.
On the night of their field trip, A-kun told Mei the story of his first love. That’s when Mei found out that A-kun was the boy she met when she was a kid and the girl, that he said was his first love, is actually her.
It turns out that their meeting in the cake shop wasn’t their very first. While Mei was cleaning her room, she found one of her baby pictures and in the picture she was holding hands with a baby boy. What she didn’t know is that the baby boy is actually A-kun.
Mei’s real mother (Mei was adopted by her mother’s friend after her mother died) and A-kun’s mother were once best friends, a friendship that ended in a tragedy. A-kun’s mother is now a drug addict who is currently staying in a rehabilitation center. She and Mei’s real mother were once best fiends but that was before Mei’s father was accused of taking drugs and it was suspected that A-kun’s mother was the one who sold him drugs. Mei’s mom couldn’t take it so she ended her own life. That’s when Mei’s mother’s friend adopted her.
And now, when Mei’s mother (not her real mother but Mei doesn’t know it yet) found out that A-kun and Mei are going out, she asked A-kun to stay away from Mei. But A-kun deserves some explanation so she told him the truth behind the death of Mei’s true mother. That is when A-kun decided to stay away from Mei. He broke up with Mei by telling her that he doesn’t have feelings for her anymore (which is obviously a lie). Then he left and transferred to some other school. His mother was also transferred to some other hospital.
Mei found some other guy named Taka-chan. Taka was one of Mei and A-kun’s friends and also their classmates. He suppressed his feelings for Mei because she knew Mei loves A-kun but when A-kun left he proposed to Mei. Mei tried to love Taka too but Taka knew it was pointless because Mei couldn’t forget A-kun.
On the day of the festival in their place, Taka set a date for Mei and A-kun to meet without the two knowing it. Then he got hit by car while trying to cross the street (I' not sure if it was suicide or not).
When Mei found out about A-kun's mother's conditon and her conection with her real mother, She went to the hospital where A-kun's mother satys and told her that because she is A-kuns mother and A-kun is the most special person to her then she could never hate her even though she could be the reason why Mei's mother died. Of course it's not really A-kun's mother's fault that Mei's mother died. When Mei and A-kun was still a baby, A-kun's mother asked Mei's father a favor. The police was after her because she is suspected to be a drug user so she asked Mei's father to hide the drugs. He got caught and when Mei's mother found out,she thought her husband is also a user so she ended her life. (I don't think this is enough reason to commmit suicide)
Anyway, Mei asked A-kun's mother to try to get better for the sake of her son.
When A-kun found out what Mei did, he came to look for Mei and he told her the truth...that she really loves her... and that he was so happy when Mei remembered their promise which is to meet on their 16th birthday in front of the bakeshop where they once meet when they were still kids.
I’ve been reading Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Series book 2: New Moon. It’s been a long time since I last read a novel because I’ve been addicted to TeniMyu and anything related to Japanese.
Vampires are really interesting. If someone will ask me whether I believe that vampires exist or not, I probably wouldn’t be able to answer. I need more facts before I decide to believe that they really do exist. But I guess it’s interesting to meet some of them as long as they’re vegetarian vampires like Edward Cullen who only drink animal’s blood. I wonder how terrible their lives were, having to do things they hate just so they could live. I mean, vampire’s only means of survival is to drink blood but most vampires were once human and for some of them, killing other human beings to satisfy their hunger is not a very easy thing to do. And so they begin to hate themselves for being the way they are when it’s not even their fault that they became like that.
That’s usually the source of conflict in most books and movies about vampires. And it’s really interesting especially stories about love between a vampire and a human being. The biggest question is: Is it justifiable for the vampire to turn the one he loves into a vampire if that is the only way for them to live peacefully together?
In case of Edward and Bella in Twilight, Edward doesn’t want Bella to become a vampire although she desperately wanted to. For Edward, vampires are naturally evil and there’s no heaven for them. And he doesn’t want Bella to have the same fate as his. For me, I don’t care whether Bella became a vampire or not as long as it’s a happy ending for the two of them.
